Soul Energy and Sorcery 101

What is soul energy?

it is a form of energy that is collected and stored by the soul. It is the energy that creates impulses in the brain, its the source of free will and conciousness. Easiest way to stop someone's spells is to kill them.

What can be done with soul energy?

Souls have a natural bond to the body they have inside the physical world. Using this bond as a bridge, soul energy can be transferred into the physical world where it will be turned into other forms of energy.

Here is a short video on how soul energy acts just as another rule of nature:

But soul energy is not only for sorcerers. The two bodily functions that use the most energy in a human are brain and muscles. This is why humans instinctively assist these functions of their body by spending soul energy.

Soul energy is let loose in the brain to make decisions and form memories, it is necessary to keep conciousness.

Soul energy can also leak into muscles and help them give greater power output. (This is why the demon race is naturally strong, their body is modified to intentionally draw soul energy to the muscles.)

How does sorcery work?

Sorcery is simply the act of manipulating soul energy and turning it into other energies. Soul energy can be turned into magnetic energy, electricity or something else the same way radiation naturally into heat or the same way mass causes gravity, its just another energy transformation.

But there is also Advanced Sorcery which is the act of manipulating the energy instead of just releasing it. This type of sorcery can be used to create or move mass, affect gravity and even change stuff on a molecular level.

What makes a sorcerer strong?

A sorcerer's limits come from birth, a soul has a natural limit on how much soul energy it can posses and a natural rate at which it recovers this energy.

But a sorcerer's skill matters far more, because effectively changing and manipulating energies is hard; It often requires extreme practice and focus.

This act can be made easier by training your mind. Yelling "fire ball" every time you turn soul energy into heat is a smart way to teach your brain a trigger that will let you cast spells even in the middle of a battle. Carrying trinkets or a mage staff can also help you focus your energy into a single point where you can then distribute equally.

In short; Casting complex spells and managing your energy well is a matter of talent and training, while the energy amount you get to work with is not something you can change.

Explanation Method
explaining what your spell does makes it easy for you to imagine and cast it, it also increases the chances of your enemy imagining the same spell and making it even more powerfull

it does give advantage in battle but if your enemy knows ways to counter your spell then explaining can make it easier for them to pick the right defense

Specialised Sorceries

note: there are no special or unique types of sorcery, these are all the same sorcery but people call them by different names depending on their outcomes and usage.

techniques are a "specialised" version of sorcery where the sorcerer is just repeating really old and complex spells that were taught to him as concepts, lowering the skill ceiling. (example: bloodfall technique, this technique causes pressure on a fresh wound and makes the target lose blood.) Techniques are usually really set stone and have their own versions. (Instead of creating new spells you just change the technique you are using a little, greatly altering the outcome.)

modifications are a specialized version of techniques where the sorcerer is taught how to alter his body permanently to gain advantages. (example: muscle growth modification.) (Its basically what most body changing spells are called)

note: some modifications can be passed down generations, these eventually got considered as seperate races (read about them at Groups Of Enia). These are still modifications in principle but due to their nature sometimes they are referred to as "blessings" (they are not blessing contracts, this is the same word being used for another meaning)
